Young Fast Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. and Lite-On Mobile Pte. Ltd./Perlos to form a joint venture for touch panel modules

Young Fast Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (TW:3622) and Lite-On Mobile Pte. Ltd./ Perlos, a 100%-owned subsidiary of Lite-On Technology Corporation (TW:2301), announced today to jointly form a company for touch panel module business. Young Fast will account for 35% of the joint venture stake, while Lite-On Mobile will take 65%.

The joint venture will enable both companies to further cement their global leading positions in the handset supply chain by riding the wave of touch panel adoption in handsets. Young Fast will expand its market share with entry into Lite-On Mobile’s customer base. Lite-On Mobile will incorporate touch modules into its product and service portfolio in addition to its core offerings in plastics and metal casing, antenna and module sub-assembly.

The joint venture is expected to begin operation in 4Q 2010, with manufacturing operation in China.
