Young Fast Optoelectronics Inc., and RiTdisplay Corporation and AimCore Technology Co., Ltd. to form a joint venture for glass subtract capacitive touch panels
Taoyuan, Taiwan, May 3, 2010, Young Fast Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (YFO), RiTdisplay Corporation (RiTD) of Ritek Group, and AimCore Technology Co., Ltd. (AimCore) announced today to jointly form a company for glass substrate capacitive type touch business. This alliance will further enhance global competitiveness of all three companies in the capacitive touch.
Total investment of the JV will be NT$500m, YFO and RiTD will account for 40% of the stake each while AimCore will take the remaining 20%. Main business of the new company is the manufacture and sale of glass capacitive type touch panel. In addition to the glass sensor technology and capacity, Ritek Group will also inject the OLED technology to the company! Through the JV, YFO secures the glass sensor capacity and provides even more competitive glass sensors to the customers.
T.J. Lin, CEO of Young Fast said, "Leveraging existing resources from RiTek group, the new company will provide immediate glass sensor capacity to YFO customers, furthermore, by combining R&D efforts from both groups will accelerating developments of the next generation products.”
Ritek indicated, “Ritek has already established a full supply chain for glass sensor touch panels. Through this collaboration, integrating frontend and backend in glass based touch panel technologies; will help further penetrate the market for RiTD, AimCore and YFO! In addition, as OLED has become a popular option for mobile handset display, this join venture will leverage the existing Ritek technologies for further integrations of the mobile handset applications.”
The new company will be in operation once the company has formally established.
